THERE'S NO PLACES LIKE HOME

I found this dress on Friday in my favourite vintage store, Tete a tete, and immediately knew it had to be mine. I absolutely love gingham, and blue is my favourite colour to wear (i also love red, but prefer it in small doses, such as a handbag or shoes). It reminded me so much of Dorothy's dress in the Wizard of Oz (one of my all time favourite things), and it fit me well. Meant to be! As it is still freezing here at the moment, I am looking forward to wearing it while picnicking or riding my cute pink bicycle on hot Summer days.

The dress is so cute it was just screaming out for a bow in my hair, just like Dorothy.

My best friend locket. My dear friend Andrea has a matching one that I gave her for her birthday recently. Made us feel like we were in primary school again!

And no Dorothy is complete without her Toto by her side xxxxxxxxx

  3. Thankyou! I sure do :) My husband bought them for me for our first Christmas together, they are a blueprint of the film originals :) I can do a wee post on them if you like. What are yours like? Very impressive that you have more than one pair! xxxxx

  4. Hi there again. I would love you to do a post on them! Yours sound great. I just have a few pairs that I call my "ruby slippers" but they're not too authentic. I have a pair of red velvet flats with little bows, a pair of shiny red stiletto pumps and a cheep pair that probably most closely resemble the real thing - red heels covered with sequins, complete with red sequined bows. They are called "Dorothy" so I think they were trying to copy them. Their smallest size was a little big for me put I just had to have them so I could say I had my own pair of ruby slippers!

  6. Great! Looking forward to it :) Of course, I was instantly attracted to your blog because of the name. I've been obsessed with red shoes ever since I first saw The Wizard of Oz when I was little :)

  7. Well I am very glad to have a fellow Wizard of Oz fan reading my blog!! I was the same as a child, I particularly wanted a Toto dog, and I finally got him 3 years ago!(my wee baby in the photo above). My husband has learnt that the way to my heart is through the Wizard of Oz!!!! I am about to pop over to your blog and have a look :) xxxx
